Volks Century Model Kyon Cecile

I first saw this beauty at Dolls’ Party at Tokyo Big Sight, but I couldn’t afford her at the time. A year later, I saw her again in the Volks showroom in Akihabara (in the now-closed and sadly missed box of wonders that was the Radio Kaikan building.)  Her beautiful face, her mod style, the whole attitude she conveys made her irresistible.

First produced in 2003, Cecile, like all Volks dolls, has a thumbnail history. Volks’ backstory says that she was born on 10th February to a wealthy French family in Paris, and now lives in Montmartre and indulges her passion for all things 1960s.

The first picture shows Cecile on her scooter with Mattel’s second Harley Davidson Ken in his original outfit, Medicom’s Mine Fujiko in her original black PVC jumpsuit and boots, and Mattel’s Provencale Barbie wearing Takara Jenny Collectors Fashion biker girl outfit.

The second picture gives a better view of the scooter and Cecile’s stunning original outfit. In the background: another Medicom Mine Fujiko wearing Barbie separates and her own boots, Mattel’s first Harley Davidson Ken in his original outfit, and another adorable Japanese Mod girl, Takara Jenny Calendar Girl Tamaki.
