In the 1970s I was a founder member of the Far Isles Mediaeval Re-creation Society. I was (and still am) a fanatical historic dress researcher, and in 1978 I published the results of my exploration in a book for the Society’s use.
In 1989 the original was divided into two volumes, one for men’s clothing and one for women’s, and re-published by Pentagram Press. Recently my friend Miki Dennis (incidentally one of the best costumers I know, and a wonderful poet) made a PDF of that edition. Here it is. Maybe you’d like to try making something from it for yourself?
