Two Hands

If you had two hands

Maybe your one hand

Would not have such skill

Such deftness, such feathery

Lightness, such strength.

Maybe your lips and tongue

Would be less soft, less strong,

Less endlessly inventive of delight.

Maybe your skin

Would hold more in,

Not breathe electric blossoms

With every touch.

Would you love me so richly, so much,

As I love you with one hand?
