Ponyo London screening

The Barbican team has just confirmed to me that our November Japanimation screening will be Hayao Miyazaki’s Ponyo. This will also be screened a few days beforehand as part of the London Children’s Film Festival. (It’s been on their website banner for over a week but seems to have gone unnoticed!)

Booking won’t open for this Japanimation programme until 11 October and we expect a very high demand for tickets. The LCFF website doesn’t yet have booking details.

Hayao Miyazaki’s movies should be seen on the big screen. We don’t often get the opportunity to see this great director’s works in the format for which he designs them, so this is a chance no Miyazaki fan will want to pass up.

See you there!

    • It’s all thanks to the brilliance of the Barbican Cinema team. We’ve been trying for Ponyo for quite some time. I actually wanted it to open the new Japanimation season this month, but Optimum weren’t able to let us have it at that stage. Of course, the London Children’s Film festival is a very prestigious event, and a Japanimation screening for Ponyo a few days later makes sense. I’m really excited about it. I’ve been dropping hints on the Events page about the LCFF website banner, which has stills from all the movies they’ll be screening including Ponyo, but nobody picked it up!
